This week, we hear from Supporters Club Committee Member Masilo Machaka on the TKO last 16 results, as well as the upcoming quarter-final round.     On the Telkom Knockout Last 16 results    Firstly, I’ll start off with the encounter between Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu. I think the Chiefs players played their hearts out, they showed character on the day and there was unity amongst them. They played for the badge of Kaizer Chiefs and I commend them for that. What really caught me by surprise though was the game between Chippa United and Mamelodi Sundowns. Who would have thought that Sundowns would be knocked out of the tournament in the early stages? I don’t know how their supporters are feeling after the performances of their beloved team over the past few weeks and I’m sure they are asking themselves, ‘What’s next?’ They are out of the Telkom Knockout, but that’s football. This past weekend we noticed, once again, another capacity crowd at Mdantsane’s Sisa Dukashe Stadium where Chippa United hosted Mamelodi Sundowns in the Telkom Knockout Last 16. If the rumours doing the rounds are anything to go by, that could have been the last game played at the venue under the auspices of the Absa Premiership, at least this season.    Word has it that the Buffalo City Municipality has reneged on their contract to have the Nelson Mandela Bay-based club play some of their games in the City. We are talking just over 300kms distance and, with Chippa being the only PSL team in the province, it made perfect sense to have them spread across the province. To add salt to the wound, this partnership between Chippa and the City was taking the game back to the people in an era where we are greeted by mostly empty stadiums in almost every game. Kaizer Chiefs head coach Steve Komphela says his charges must move on from the goalless draw with Polokwane City. The AmaKhosi registered their second straight goalless draw on Tuesday evening, as they missed the chance to move top of the Absa Premiership log. "Polokwane City didn't make it easy for us in as much as we controlled the game. "There was a chance with Ramagalela with a header inside the box and another one where (Rendani) Ndou had a turn inside the box, Itu (Khune) kept us in the game. We also had chances where I think the match could have gone either way. "We always want to win every match it's just a pity we couldn't win this one. We have to look forward, there's nothing we can do about this 90 minutes it's gone. "We have to look back and check what areas we could have done better. There's one chance of Pule Ekstein and another from Shabba, those chances do count. You get one of those chances ...

“Foremost, my compliments to Polokwane City,” Steve Komphela reflects on the goalless draw against Polokwane City last night. “The match was tense and I thought it could have gone either way. We had chances – for Bernard Parker, Dumsani Zuma and Pule Ekstein, while Siphiwe Tshabalala hit the bar. “If you look at the log, it’s not easy to get points, it is tight. Amakhosi had most of the chances, but they couldn’t find the back of the net. Siyabonga Ngezana has done brilliantly since making his debut against Mamelodi Sundowns. The youngster, however, is not only playing soccer, he’s focused on his school work as well. The defender therefore has to miss tonight’s Absa Premiership fixture against Polokwane City as he’s busy writing exams. Lorenzo Gordinho, who has recovered from his rib injury, replaces Nengezana in the centre of defence.
