Orlando Pirates aim to turn things around to change Mamelodi Sundowns’ dominance over them in their match on Wednesday. The Buccaneers will welcome Sundowns at the Orlando Stadium when they meet in their Absa Premiership match. In recent seasons, Sundowns have been dominant over Pirates when they visit them in their home ground. Last season, The Brazilians beat Pirates 2-0 in their league match at Orlando. This past weekend we noticed, once again, another capacity crowd at Mdantsane’s Sisa Dukashe Stadium where Chippa United hosted Mamelodi Sundowns in the Telkom Knockout Last 16. If the rumours doing the rounds are anything to go by, that could have been the last game played at the venue under the auspices of the Absa Premiership, at least this season.    Word has it that the Buffalo City Municipality has reneged on their contract to have the Nelson Mandela Bay-based club play some of their games in the City. We are talking just over 300kms distance and, with Chippa being the only PSL team in the province, it made perfect sense to have them spread across the province. The AmaKhosi registered their second straight goalless draw on Tuesday evening, as they missed the chance to move top of the Absa Premiership log. The draw for the Telkom Knockout quarter-finals was made on Sunday afternoon after Mamelodi Sundowns' clash with Chippa United. Leonardo Castro could be seeing out the final months of his contract at Mamelodi Sundowns, with Siya sources indicating that the Colombian and Head Coach Pitso Mosimane are not seeing eye to eye. The striker was offered a new and improved deal with the Brazilians some time back, however, the player has since been heavily linked with an exit from the Chloorkop-based club. The 28-year-old’s contract is set to come to an end next year, June 30, which means that the player will be free to agree to a pre-contract with any interested suitor from January next year. The draw was conducted on the pitch side of the Sisa Dukashe Stadium after Chippa’s win over Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday afternoon. Kaizer Chiefs got into the drawing bowl by virtue of disposing AmaZulu in the round of Last 16. The PSL Competitions Committee will decide the dates, venues and ticketing information on Monday. The South African Football Association (SAFA) have confirmed that former referee Ian Mcleod has sadly passed away. SAFA announced on Twitter that the former official was admitted to hospital last week and had passed away on Thursday evening. McLeod officiated matches at the 1997 FIFA Confederations Cup, 1998 FIFA World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations. The former official was the Senior Referees Manager at SAFA.

Sources have alerted the Siya crew that despite earlier reports that Polokwane City intended to part ways with veteran striker Rendani Ndou, the Limpopo-based club may now look to retain the services of the 30-year-old forward.  Ndou has been with Rise and Shine for the past three years and reports surfaced that he could be making an exit when his contract comes to an end. The Baroka FC goalkeeper’s goal made the final cut in the Puskas Awards alongside teenage Venezuelan starlet, Deyna Castellanos, as well as Olivier Giroud from Arsenal. Giroud was the eventual winner at the awards ceremony held in London last night.
