The president of the South African Football Association, Danny Jordaan, has congratulated Oscarine Masuluke for the recognition of his goal at the 2017 FIFA Puskas Awards.
The Baroka FC goalkeeper’s goal made the final cut in the Puskas Awards alongside teenage Venezuelan starlet, Deyna Castellanos, as well as Olivier Giroud from Arsenal.
Giroud was the eventual winner at the awards ceremony held in London last night. Although Masuluke was pipped to the award the French forward, the president of SAFA has congratulated the shot-stopper for the recognition for the breathtaking overhead kick he scored against Orlando Pirates.
“Well done to Oscarine for flying the South African and Africa’s flag high. In spite of the outcome, you have done the continent proud by making it into the top three of such a top award. We are really proud of you,” Jordaan told SAFA’s official website.
