Mashego And Zuke Monitored Ahead Of Downs Match

Chippa United have provided their injury update, ahead of the team’s upcoming Telkom Knockout match.

The Chilli Boys will host Mamelodi Sundowns in the Telkom Knockout Last 16 match at Mdantsane’s Sisa Dukashe Stadium on Sunday. The Port Elizabeth outfit has confirmed that Katlego Mashego and Sandile Zuke are being monitored, after picking knocks in the league match against Cape Town City last weekend.

However, the good news for caretaker coach Teboho Moloi and the team is that Paseka Mako has recovered from the injury that kept him out of the last two matches.

“Paseka 'Computer' Mako is expected to join his teammates for full training on Tuesday after injuring his foot ligaments during a friendly match against Nelson Mandela University about a fortnight ago.

“The former Cape Town All Stars winger missed both home Absa Premiership encounters against Maritzburg United and Cape Town City.

“Mako’s return will be a huge confidence booster for the Chilli Boys ahead of what promises to be a thrilling Telkom KO encounter against the 2015 winners, Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday, 29 October.

“The medical team will keep a close eye on Katlego 'Mahoota' Mashego and Sandile 'Mtawali' Zuke after they both suffered injuries during the emphatic win against Cape Town City on Sunday,” Chippa confirmed on the club’s official website.

Chippa’s Head of Communications and Marketing, Luthando ‘Trompies’ Zibeko confirmed that tickets for the match are selling fast.

Vilakazi: It’s Been A While Since Sundowns Tasted Glory

Mamelodi Sundowns’ Sibusiso Vilakazi says that is has been a while since the Brazilians tasted glory but they will try their best to go all out and claim the Telkom Knockout Cup this season. Sundowns will lock horns with Chippa United later this month, October, in the round of 16 of the Telkom Knockout competition, with Head Coach Pitso Mosimane’s side keen to retain the trophy which they last won in 2015. Speaking after the TKO draw took place, Vilakazi revealed that after Sundowns failed to progress further than the quarter-final stages of the MTN8 competition, the Telkom Knockout will be an opportunity for the Chloorkop-based club to dust themselves off.  “It’s been a while since we tasted glory, in the form of a trophy on the domestic league. We will try by all means to get this one for the team, for ourselves and for the supporters. But with that said, we aren’t looking forward too much. We will take it one game at a time. First, there is Chip...

City To Extend Ndou’s Stay?

Sources have alerted the Siya crew that despite earlier reports that Polokwane City intended to part ways with veteran striker Rendani Ndou, the Limpopo-based club may now look to retain the services of the 30-year-old forward.  Ndou has been with Rise and Shine for the past three years and reports surfaced that he could be making an exit when his contract comes to an end. However, Siya sources have revealed that City may look to keep the experienced striker at the club.    Earlier reports suggested that Ndou along with teammates Tshepo Tema and Randy Ngobe were left out in the cold by the club as they were no longer in the future plans of coach Bernard Molekwa. However, sources close to the club indicated that Ndou is in line for a two-year extension that would see him remain at the club until 2020.      Ndou signed a three-year deal with Polokwane City back in 2014 after Black Leopards failed to gain promotion to the P...
