Orlando Pirates head coach, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic, has commended his Mamelodi Sundowns counterpart, Pitso Mosimane, for his contribution to South African football.
Sredojevic and Mosimane are preparing their teams for their upcoming match this week, where Bucs and Downs will meet in an Absa Premiership match at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday. Speaking to the media at a media open day ahead of the game, Bucs’ Serbian coach lauded Mosimane for what he has done for the local game.
“We are playing a team that has proven themselves. They are still African champions at present. They are a very good group of individuals that are playing top class football as a team. They are having my very dear friend (Pitso Mosimane) for the last 15 years. Pitso Mosimane for me is (the) Alex Ferguson of South African football. It looks like an extraordinary league match for us and for them (Sundowns). We are totally focused and concentrated on the game,” said Sredojevic.
The Buccaneers are third on the PSL log, while Downs are 10th. The Brazilians have played three matches less than those of Pirates.
