A genuine Chiefs experience

“We received a genuine Kaizer Chiefs experience from this visit,” commented Martin Cushing, an educator from England’s Culcheth High School. “Hopefully we will be here again. The inspiration we received here will give us aspiration in life.

“We, as teachers, are nourished mostly by the values that underpin Kaizer Chiefs. This visit gave us a well-rounded experience about what this brand means – it is not only about soccer, it is also about life and inspiration.”

The tour of Chiefs Village was integrated in the students’ visit, which was part of an exchange project between Culcheth High School, Warrington (UK) and Matseliso Secondary School, Meadowlands, Soweto.

The group toured the Village facilities, while meeting and greeting staff as well as players. The group were met by Digital Manager Kemiso Motaung, who took time to talk to the visitors.

“Foremost, welcome to the Village,” said the lively Motaung. “We are responsible to manage the club’s media and media platforms. We invite you to join in and follow us to become part of our global family. Millions follow us on social media and we will be happy to interact with you as well.”

The visitors from the English school consisted of 25 learners, three educators, and the headmaster.

Motaung didn’t only greet; she went on to share knowledge about cyberbullying, one of the campaigns that the club runs as part of their CSI programmes.

“As you all know by now, with the rise of social media, we’ve had a lot of incidents of harassment using electronic forms of contact every day,” Motaung mentioned. “We have a campaign as part of our CSI to educate people about the dangers of social media. My advice to you is to think twice before posting on your social media platforms.”

The group also visited the KC Retail store where they enjoyed a unique Kaizer Chiefs shopping experience. The visitors were also treated to a presentation by our youth development coaches, where they got to learn about our club’s integrated development programme, much to the fascination of the boys and girls.

“We love you and you are part of the Chiefs Family,” concluded Kemiso Motaung. “We are about Love & Peace. You are precious to us and you represent the future.”

The teachers and kids of the Culcheth and Matseliso schools enjoyed their visit at the Village and it will surely stay forever in their memories.
