Kaizer Chiefs’ victory over Mamelodi Sundowns last night was an array of dramatic scenes, with one of the standout incidents being between Tiyani Mabunda and Joseph Molangoane.
During the second half of the encounter, Chiefs’ Molangoane received a yellow card booking for an unruly tackle on Sundowns’ Khama Billiat who subsequently went to ground and as a result, Mabunda was seen charging at Molangoane which consequently caused a scuffle between the players from the two sides.
However, it seems as if Molangoane’s foul on Billiat was more than just a tackle on the player, as Head Coach Pitso Mosimane revealed that the Chiefs winger had a few words to say to the Zimbabwean.
“Molangoane, told Khama, he told Khama – he says, I wanted to break your leg and you know why, ” Mosimane told SuperSport TV after the match. “They’ve got their own personal issue, we don’t know about it but it’s okay. It’s part of football, he said it, it’s true,” he added.
Now, it remains to be seen whether Chiefs will make any statement on the matter after Mosimane revealed to the public what Molangoane said to Billiat, or if the matter will be put to bed. The Siya crew will investigate further and keep you updated.
