SuperSport United fly out of South Africa this morning to embark on their CAF Confederation Cup semi-final clash against Club Africain in Tunisia.
Matsatsantsa have lost only one away game in the CCC this season in
their march into the final four – back against Al Ahly Shendi in March
and know that they need at least a score draw to stand any chance of
progressing into the final.
The club are already enjoying their best ever run in a CAF tournament,
and Eric Tinkler’s side will be hoping to keep it going as they eye a
spot in the last tie of the competition.
SuperSport – fresh off the back of their MTN8 victory, fly this morning
but will stop in Dubai before completing their trip to Tunisia on
Friday ahead of Sunday night’s encounter.
Tinkler’s team salvaged a 1-1 draw in the home leg against Africain,
conceding what could prove to be a vital away goal from the penalty
spot. They have only failed to score in four of their 15 CAF games this
year, and they know that a win – or any score draw above 1-1, will see
them through to the final.
The Tshwane-based side has scored 2+ goals in four of their last seven
CAF matches and will be confident of getting a goal or two in Tunisia
with the help of the tournament’s leading scorer, Jeremy Brockie (9
goals).
