Gordon Igesund, a name synonymous with Mzansi football, will experience
life in the game on the other side, following his partnership with
Santos FC.
The experienced coach is excited to take on his new challenge as a co-owner and partner at Santos. The partners have put in place a four-year plan to see the team back in the PSL and challenge for honours.
Santos issued a statement today, Monday, October 9, stating that Igesund and well-known businessman Bryn Ressell, have partnered up with Goolam Allie.
Igesund has now told the Siya crew that he is looking forward to his new role as a co-owner of a professional football club.
“For the last 30 years, I have been around the country coaching other people’s clubs, winning championships and being away from home. I am 60 years old now and I want to be in Cape Town, so when the opportunity arose for me to be one of the partners and co-owners at Santos, with Bryn Ressell and Goolam Allie, I jumped at it.
“Now I am able to realise a dream - to coach my own team. I am looking forward to this challenge,” said Igesund.
