Kaizer Chiefs have made their interest known about offering one of their players an extended deal at Naturena, this according to Siya sources.
The Siya crew reported in July this year that unconfirmed reports revealed that Chiefs goalkeeper, Brilliant Khuzwayo’s contract at the club was set to come to an end next year, on June 30.
At the time it was also revealed that Amakhosi’s cross-city rivals, Orlando Pirates, were eyeing Khuzwayo and was looking to lure the player to the other side of Soweto, indicating that they were looking to make the 27-year-old their number one goalkeeper.
However, no move materialised for Khuzwayo at the time and the Buccaneers subsequently brought Wayne Sandilands on board.
Siya sources have since informed the crew that after the known interest in the player’s services, Amakhosi are looking to tie down the shot-stopper on a new deal, this before he reaches the final six months of his contract at Naturena.
Chiefs want to avoid losing the KwaZulu-Natal-born player on a free to one of their PSL rivals. According to Siya sources, the club has made their intentions known to the player and negotiations are expected to take place in the near future.
